The Academy with Community Partners Lions lost against BASIS - Mesa back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Academy with Community Partners was beaten by BASIS - Mesa 56-21. Academy with Community Partners has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
BASIS - Mesa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Frivaldo, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Frivaldo is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Matteo Huish, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Academy with Community Partners now has a losing record at 1-2. As for BASIS - Mesa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy with Community Partners' road trip will continue as they head out to face 91st Psalm Christian School at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. 91st Psalm Christian School is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for BASIS - Mesa, they will head out on the road to face off against Phoenix School of Academic Excellence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
