The Spring Creek Spartans lost against the Churchill County Greenwave back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Spring Creek was the victim of a tough 46-25 loss at the hands of the Greenwave. Spring Creek has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Churchill County found their leader in underclassman Jada Anastasio, who scored 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Anastasio has scored at least a third of Churchill County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Bettencourt, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Spring Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Churchill County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Creek's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Dust Devils at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Dayton is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Churchill County, they will be playing at home against the Buckaroos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lowry is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
