Hamlin is 0-7 against the Loboes since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hamlin Pied Pipers will head out on the road to take on the Cisco Loboes at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Hamlin has not done well against the Tigers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hamlin narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 49-47. Hamlin didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Hamlin's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke White, who scored 13 points, and AJ Rivera, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Gruben, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cisco put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Haskell on the road to the tune of 76-36. Given Cisco's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 747th, while the Indians are ranked 1533rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hamlin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-19. As for Cisco, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Hamlin was dealt a bruising 93-47 defeat at the hands of the Loboes in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hamlin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
