Flatirons Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Denver Christian Thunder at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Flatirons Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Flatirons Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Dayspring Christian Academy, taking the game 39-32.
Flatirons Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Dehaan, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Dehaan scored 15 or more points. Brylin Gomer was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 13 rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Denver Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-33 loss to Wray last Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Denver Christian has scored all season.
Flatirons Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.78 points. As for Denver Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Flatirons Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Denver Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory.
