The Harper Creek Beavers will challenge the Marshall Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harper Creek's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Marshall's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Marshall will be up against a hot Harper Creek team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Beavers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against Lakeview. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Beavers have posted since April 25th.
Meanwhile, Marshall made easy work of Northwest on Tuesday and carried off a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Redhawks, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Layne Churchill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brooke Carden and Addison Carden did most of the damage at the plate: Brooke went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Addison went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Addison has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marshall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Harper Creek, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
Everything went Harper Creek's way against Marshall when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Harper Creek made off with a 12-5 victory. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
