The Seton Hall Prep Pirates pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Immaculate Conception. While losing is never fun, Seton Hall Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Immaculate Conception is ranked 17th).
Despite the defeat, Seton Hall Prep had strong showings from Daniel Beazer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Dylan Guzzardo, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beazer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gino Romano, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Seton Hall Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Immaculate Conception, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Seton Hall Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against East Side at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Side is coming into the matchup with four straight wins on the road, meaning Seton Hall Prep will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Immaculate Conception, they will challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
