Baseball Recap: Tippecanoe Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Argos

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tippecanoe Valley). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Argos Dragons an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Tippecanoe Valley got a massive performance out of Hunter Paxton, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Paxton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Alderfer, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tippecanoe Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Argos only managed one hit.

Tippecanoe Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-18. As for Argos, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Coming up, Tippecanoe Valley will take on Plymouth in a tournament on Saturday. As for Argos, they will face off against Elkhart Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
