Kaiser has gone 9-1 against Grand Terrace recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cats will head out to take on the Titans at 3:45 p.m. Kaiser is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Kaiser gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Arrowhead Christian.
Danny Andrew Ramirez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Issac Estrada, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Terrace). Everything went their way against San Gorgonio on Friday as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Titans with their most commanding win of the season.
The result came thanks to Lawrence Bonilla's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grand Terrace is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Jesse Medina and Ray Roybal did most of the damage at the plate: Medina went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Roybal scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Grand Terrace is 5-1 when Roybal posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Vasili Kazaltzes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Grand Terrace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Gorgonio only posted a batting average of .050.
Kaiser pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Grand Terrace, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Kaiser skirted past Grand Terrace 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
