The Port Byron Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 73-33 loss at the hands of Jordan-Elbridge. Port Byron was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
Abbie Ahern was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds for Jordan-Elbridge. Ahern is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ava Hildebrant was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Port Byron's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Jordan-Elbridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Byron will take on Pulaski at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jordan-Elbridge, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Weedsport at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th.
