The Grulla Gators can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Economedes as Grulla made off with a 56-30 victory. For Grulla, this counts as revenge for the 39-38 loss Economedes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November.
Despite the loss, Economedes still got an impressive performance from Nathaniel De La Garza, who scored 15 points along with three steals. De La Garza scored a full 50% of Economedes' points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Carreon, who scored five points.
Grulla's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Economedes, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Grulla will head out on the road to face off against Harmony School of Innovation at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harmony School of Innovation comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Economedes will finish 2023 at home by hosting Zapata at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Zapata is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
