Seabreeze moved up to 134 from 160 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 9. The Sandcrabs were able to make the jump by losing to Bayside 34-30.
New Smyrna Beach extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Titusville, 40-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Barracudas.
Seabreeze's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Sandcrabs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Connor Blair has thrown for 680 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Charles Nelson has 15 catches for 269 yards. Trevaughn Rodriguez leads the league in rushing with 659 yards.
Two of the top units in 6A District 9 will face off this week when Seabreeze takes on New Smyrna Beach. Marc Beach's team's offense has racked up 240 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Lance Jenkins' team has allowed only 82 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Sandcrabs take on the Barracudas. Seabreeze has allowed 95 points this season, while New Smyrna Beach has given up 82. The Sandcrabs allowed 34 points last week as they fell to the Bears.
The Barracudas led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on the Terriers.
