After losing to the North Plainfield Canucks the last time they met, the Metuchen Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Metuchen secured a 48-44 W over North Plainfield on Saturday.
Metuchen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matt Smith led the charge by scoring 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Santus, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Metuchen has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for North Plainfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Metuchen will look to defend their home court on Monday against Dunellen at 11:00 a.m. Dunellen is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for North Plainfield, they will head out on the road to take on Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Edison is ranked 320th, while North Plainfield is ranked 297th).
