Blackstone Valley Prep waltzed into their matchup on Sunday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Mt. Pleasant Kilties get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. This was a revenge game for the PRIDE: when they faced off against the Kilties back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.
Noah Ferreira made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Blackstone Valley Prep is 7-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Ferreira was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Ferreira wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alex Torres, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Torres has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Blackstone Valley Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
As of now, neither Blackstone Valley Prep nor the Kilties have any future games scheduled.
