North Point is 4-0 against Huntingtown since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Point Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Huntingtown Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. North Point is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Point gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past McDonough, posting a 61-25 win at home. Given North Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while McDonough is ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Huntingtown struggled with assists on Wednesday (St. Charles had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Huntingtown suffered a rough 56-34 defeat at the hands of St. Charles. Huntingtown has not had much luck with St. Charles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Eva Powell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Hoetzlein-sirman, who scored six points along with two steals.
North Point is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Huntingtown, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
Everything came up roses for North Point against Huntingtown in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the squad secured a 76-40 win. With North Point ahead 47-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
