The Lawrence Upper Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Horizon Science Academy Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon Science Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lawrence Upper, who comes in off a win.
Lawrence Upper took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 25-17 win over Varsity Opponent.
Lawrence Upper found their leader in underclassman Kayla Ponyard, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Cunningham, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Horizon Science Academy had to settle for a 36-34 defeat against Christian Community on Monday.
Lawrence Upper's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Horizon Science Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Lawrence Upper was able to grind out a solid win over Horizon Science Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 54-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence Upper since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
