Softball Recap: Bunn Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Bunn entered their tilt with Princeton on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 21-2 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emily Baez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Baez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Madeline Bryson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Payton Wood, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

Bunn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.

Bunn's record is now 14-3. As for Princeton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunn will host Wake Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Princeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beddingfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
