The Rio Americano Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Sacramento Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Rio Americano earned a 14-7 victory over Del Campo. The victory was just what Rio Americano needed coming off of a 41-15 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Sacramento had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 46-38 win over Capital Christian. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Sacramento was the better team in the second half.
Lamar Radcliffe was a one-man wrecking crew for Sacramento as he rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Rio Americano's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Sacramento, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 3-6.
Rio Americano beat Sacramento 35-28 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Americano since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
