Baseball Recap: Cienega Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Cienega put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pueblo. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Bobcats have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cienega got a great performance from ANDREW ROMO as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cienega let JAMES LINZMEYER and NANO LOPEZ run wild. LINZMEYER scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while LOPEZ went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. LINZMEYER has become a key player for Cienega: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. ZAK VASQUEZ was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cienega always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory was the third in a row for Cienega, bringing their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Pueblo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
