Seymour extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 5-1 in the process. Everything went their way against the Derby Red Raiders as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Wildcats have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
As for Derby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly six runs.
For Derby's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Sheridan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Sheridan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
