The Edison Wildcats were the 62-56 winner over the Philo Electrics when they last played one another back in December of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. Edison was the victim of a rough 64-41 loss at the hands of Philo on Saturday.
Philo found their leader in underclassman Rusty Trout, who scored 23 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Preston, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Edison bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Philo, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Edison will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. Philo will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Crooksville at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
