After flying high against the Greyhills Academy Knights last Thursday, the Red Mesa Redskins came back down to earth. Red Mesa took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitehorse on Tuesday. Red Mesa lost against Whitehorse in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-35 score last time.
Red Mesa's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Shyla Pipkin, who scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds, and Daleni Nakai who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. Nakai scored a full 30.8% of Red Mesa's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Red Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Whitehorse, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Red Mesa will be playing at home against Williams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitehorse, they will head out on the road to face off against Navajo Pine at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
