Whites Creek and Hume-Fogg are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Whites Creek Cobras will be playing at home against the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hume-Fogg took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Whites Creek, who comes in off a win.
Even though Whites Creek has not done well against McGavock recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Whites Creek walked away with a 48-39 win over McGavock. The win made it back-to-back wins for Whites Creek.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whites Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rickiya Rawlings, who scored 18 points. The match was Rawlings' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Moriah Plattner, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hume-Fogg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Ensworth 53-18. While losing is never fun, Hume-Fogg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Ensworth is ranked 49th).
Whites Creek's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Hume-Fogg, they bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Whites Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Hume-Fogg in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 44-34. Does Whites Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hume-Fogg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
