It was a good run, but the Trinity Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Eastern Randolph 81-77. Trinity has struggled against Eastern Randolph recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Trinity's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominic Payne, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, and Brandon Campbell who scored 22 points along with three steals. Payne is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Jacob Hodges was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
It was another big night for Timothy Brower, who scored 35 points along with five assists and two steals for Eastern Randolph. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brower has scored at least a third of Eastern Randolph's points. Another player making a difference was Nicah Taylor, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Eastern Randolph, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Trinity will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Randleman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for Eastern Randolph, they will head out on the road to square off against Grace Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Grace Christian will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
