Adding to the longest winning streak in Macomb Area - Bronze this week, Clintondale beat East Detroit 39-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Clawson scaled the state rankings by moving to 346 from 375 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans were able to move up by defeating South Lake 21-14.
Clawson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ty Sparks threw for 164 and 2 touchdowns and Marquian Johnson had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Donovan Holt chipped in 82 yards. Charles Tarver helped Clawson's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 39 yards.
Sparks put up the best numbers in passing as Jim Sparks' team beat the Cavaliers. Sparks' favorite target this week was Johnson, who caught 6 passes for 111 yards.
The Trojans' Sparks and Johnson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Sparks has thrown for 1,502 yards this season, while Johnson has 37 catches for 804 yards. Lincoln's Derrel Stewart leads the league in rushing yards with 318.
A big matchup in Macomb Area - Bronze this week will be when Mt. Clemens takes on Clintondale. As it stands, the Battling Bathers are in third, while Dave Schindler's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mt. Clemens takes on the Dragons. Harold Penn's team has allowed 92 points this season, while Clintondale has given up 26.
The league will see a high scoring game when Clawson and the Abes face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 175 this season, while Lincoln has scored 38. Clawson scored 21 points last week as it defeated South Lake.
