The Chadron Cardinals were handed a three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Mitchell Tigers on Monday. Everything went Chadron's way against Mitchell as Chadron made off with a 49-28 win. That's another feather in the cap for Chadron, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Chadron to victory were Taverra Sayaloune and Demi Ferguson. Sayaloune scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Ferguson scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Sayaloune is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Ritterbush, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: Addy Bowlin scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 53.6% of Mitchell's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chadron's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.
Chadron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mitchell also has no future games currently scheduled.
