The Ponca Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Walthill with a sharp 59-35 victory. The victory was just what Ponca needed coming off of a 59-22 defeat in their prior match.
Ponca was led to victory by Aix Hughes and Lily Korth. Hughes scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Korth scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Korth has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emerson Ehlers, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Ponca is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Walthill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Ponca didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-35 defeat vs. Homer on the 9th. Walthill has also already played their next match, a 47-37 loss against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the 12th.
