Snake River is 2-8 against South Fremont since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Panthers will host the Cougars at 1:00 p.m. South Fremont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Snake River, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Snake River turned things around against American Falls on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Beavers. The game marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.

Levi Gillins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Snake River got a massive performance out of Justin Wray, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Wray a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dawson Jorgensen, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Meanwhile, South Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to Marsh Valley.
Like Snake River, South Fremont also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordan Hammond. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Hammond has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Hammond wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cy Hill, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
South Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Snake River, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-10.
