Softball Recap: Crockett County Beats Obion County for Their Third Straight Win

Crockett County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Obion County Rebels as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by six runs or more this season.

Crockett County got a massive performance out of Hannah Carter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Carter has posted over her last 12 matchups. Wesley Thornton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Crockett County's win bumped their record up to 27-8. As for Obion County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crockett County is set to square off against their familiar foe South Gibson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 3.6, the Hornets 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Obion County will challenge rival Dyersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
