The East Ridge Knights can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by South Lake on the road to the tune of 35-7. The victory was just what East Ridge needed coming off of a 35-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Cole Rylski looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 43 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 193 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Travarus Boykin, who gained 93 total yards and a touchdown.
South Lake's loss came despite strong showings from Marcell Walker and Kevens Charles. Walker gained 148 total yards, while Charles rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. Walker was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards.
East Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for South Lake, their defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Tavares at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Lake, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Olympia is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
