Paramount is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Norwalk is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pirates will host the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Paramount's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Dominguez 13-0.
Laritza Esparza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases.

In other pitching news, CLARISSA NORIEGA looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Paramount got a massive performance out of Sophia Ledezma, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Ledezma a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah MORENO, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Paramount was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .800. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in 14 consecutive matchups.
Norwalk came out on top against Firebaugh on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Falcons.
The team relied heavily on Jazmin Jimenez, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaslene Pelayo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Norwalk's win bumped their record up to 14-9-1. As for Paramount, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paramount hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .520. However, it's not like Norwalk struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Paramount's way against Norwalk in their previous meeting back in April, as Paramount made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
