Reading hasn't had much luck against Twin Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Red KNights will host the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Reading has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Tuesday, Reading came up short against Berks Catholic and fell 14-9.
Gabriella Quijano stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jadalyn Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Twin Valley and Hamburg, and Twin Valley kept the tradition alive. The Raiders came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 10-5 on Tuesday.
Maggie Stoltzfus spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Krall, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Weiler, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Twin Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Reading, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Reading has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Twin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Reading might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Twin Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Red KNights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
