Woods Cross extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Kiyomi Tauataina. The Woods Cross Wildcats walked away with a 57-48 victory over the Box Elder Bees on Friday thanks in part to Tauataina, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Ili Crockett, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Box Elder lost, don't look at Jocelyn Vranes. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 15 on her way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Nelson, who had 12 points.

Woods Cross pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Box Elder, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woods Cross will square off against Clearfield at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Box Elder, they will head out to take on Viewmont at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Viewmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
