There's no place like home for the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Southwest Atlanta Christian by a score of 67-58 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Miller McGowan was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. McGowan is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Owen McGowan, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Atlanta Classical Academy pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlanta Classical Academy will take on W D Mohammed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Atlanta Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Whitefield Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th.
