Paw Paw hasn't had much luck against Vicksburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Wolves will take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Paw Paw will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Nine must be Paw Paw's lucky number: they beat Port Huron Northern with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Red Wolves put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Caden Bowen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Bowen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maverick Johnson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Gunnar Goodell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Paw Paw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Huron Northern only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, Vicksburg beat Kalamazoo Christian 10-7 on Monday.
Vicksburg got a massive performance out of Luke Deal, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Deal's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mitch Beyer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Paw Paw's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Vicksburg, their record is now 4-7-1.
Paw Paw suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Vicksburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Red Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
