The McQueen Lancers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Spring Creek by a score of 36-29 on Friday. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but McQueen was the better team in the second half.
McQueen found their leader in underclassman Audrey Baumgardner, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleigh Fred, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals.
Spring Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Dimick, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenleigh Carsrud, who scored 8 points.
McQueen's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Spring Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
McQueen will take on Churchill County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Spring Creek is on the road again on Saturday and play against North Valleys at 8:00 a.m. on December 2nd. North Valleys' defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Spring Creek's offense will have their work cut out for Spring Creek.
