The Gladewater Bears waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 44-31 victory over New Diana. That's another feather in the cap for Gladewater, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why New Diana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jolie Ballard. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Gladewater's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for New Diana, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gladewater will square off against White Oak at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. White Oak is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. New Diana on the road again on Friday and play against Daingerfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
