Two dominant signal callers in Brandon Cobb and Kane Archer are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Pulaski Academy Bruins are on the road again on Friday and play against the Greenwood Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Pulaski Academy faced Marion in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pulaski Academy beat Marion by the very same score they won with last week: 27-26.
Pulaski Academy can attribute much of their success to Cobb, who threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns, and Andrew Fiser, who gained 170 total yards and two touchdowns. Fiser was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Greenwood had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-14 victory over Mountain Home on the road. Greenwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Archer and Brayedan Davis were among the main playmakers for Greenwood as the former threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 185 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Archer is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Grant Karnes also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.
Pulaski Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.8 points per game. As for Greenwood, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Pulaski Academy suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Greenwood when the teams last played back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Greenwood's Archer, who threw for 274 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground.
