Sadly, the Cummings Cavaliers are still looking for their first win of the season after 16 games. They were beaten by Northwood 57-17 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cummings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Northwood is ranked 80th).
Skylar Adams was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Northwood. The team also got some help courtesy of Neah Henry, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Cummings dropped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Northwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
Cummings will head out on the road to challenge North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cummings is facing North Moore at the right time seeing as North Moore is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatham Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
