The New Britain Golden Hurricanes had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They took down Harding 64-47. Given New Britain's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Harding is ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harding lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamaar Wright Jr., who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Antwon Dedrick, who scored six points.
New Britain pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Harding, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Britain will take on Enfield at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. New Britain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three games. As for Harding, they will be playing at home against Career Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Harding focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
