The New Life Academy Bobcats will be playing at home against the Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
New Life Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They suffered a tough 37-16 loss at the hands of Victory Christian back in November of 2023. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Life Academy in their matchups with Victory Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 60-34 defeat at the hands of Trinity Christian. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 23 to ten on offense.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Savannah Ball, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Lauren Taylor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
New Life Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6.
New Life Academy was taken down by Bethel Assembly Christian Academy 36-8 in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Thankfully for New Life Academy, Jenna Dunlow (who scored 13 points along with six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
