Even though the New Milford Knights scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, the Cresskill Cougars still came out on top. Cresskill took down New Milford 77-60. That's another feather in the cap for Cresskill, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luis Placido, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Placido hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Dariel Liranzo, who scored 16 points.
Cresskill's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for New Milford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season.
Cresskill will head out on the road to square off against Marion P. Thomas at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Milford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Park Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully New Milford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
