Maddex Moreno continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Uriah Tillapaugh, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Argonia lost, one person who can't be blamed is Filippo Leonardi. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Carson Vineyard was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Argonia struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West Elk's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Argonia, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
West Elk will head out on the road to take on South Haven at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Argonia, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Caldwell at 10:30 a.m. Caldwell is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
