The Manchester Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 51-43 to West Union. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manchester in their matchups with West Union: they've now lost six in a row.
It was another big night for Ashlah Staten, who scored 23 points along with four steals for West Union. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Madison Stout, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Manchester bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for West Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Manchester will head out on the road to face off against Lynchburg-Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lynchburg-Clay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Manchester in Ohio (Lynchburg-Clay is ranked 182nd, while Manchester is ranked 638th). West Union and Eastern will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
