The Parkway South Patriots will take on the Parkway North Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Parkway South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Kirkwood, who was ranked 24th at the time (Parkway South was ranked 21st). The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 3-2 on Monday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Parkway South got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 17-25, 16-14.

Jack McClanahan and Owen Darrough were among the main playmakers for Parkway South as the former had 12 digs and six assists and the latter had 12 kills, six digs, and one block. That's the most kills Darrough has posted over his last six matchups.
Meanwhile, Parkway North hadn't done well against Affton recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since April 30, 2024.
Parkway North was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 26-24, 15-9.
Parkway North's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. As for Parkway South, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Parkway South was able to grind out a solid victory over Parkway North when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 3-1. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
