The West Lincoln Rebels suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-46 loss at the hands of West Caldwell. While losing is never fun, West Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while West Caldwell is ranked 81st).
West Lincoln's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gideon Allen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Bryce Beddingfield who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
It was another big night for Jordan Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds for West Caldwell. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jay Maxwell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
West Lincoln has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for West Caldwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Lincoln the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East Burke at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. East Burke has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for West Caldwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandys is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
