Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Clear Springs' Winning Streak

After a string of seven wins, Clear Springs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer Park Deer. The game marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Alana Strever made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Erianna Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Clear Springs' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-3. As for Deer Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clear Springs will square off against rival Clear Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Deer Park is set to face off against their familiar foe Dickinson at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
