The Westview Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 42-16 walloping at the hands of Eastside. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westview has scored all season.
Westview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karis Weinberg, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Westview struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Westview has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Eastside, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-3.
Westview will face off against Churubusco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central Noble at 7:30 p.m.
