The Foothill Cougars had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chico on Tuesday and snuck past 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Foothill has posted yet this season.
Foothill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Zanhiser, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Cruz, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Foothill's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for Chico, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-8.
Foothill will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bluff will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 808th, while Foothill is ranked 352nd). As for Chico, they will head out on the road to challenge Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pleasant Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
