Madison (San Diego, Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as with 3:00 left, bringing the team to victory over
Monrovia (Calif.) 21-17.
The two teams were tied at seven heading into halftime. The Warhawks took the lead for good on a kick return in the fourth quarter.
Madison got six points from its defense on the way to victory.
Ge Vontray Ainsworth made a difference for the Wildcats. The senior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.
The San Diego school came in allowing an average of 19.2 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding Monrovia well below its season average of 39.0 points scored per game.
The loss comes after Monrovia defeated Paraclete 23-7 last week.
