Withrow is 0-4 against Western Hills since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Withrow Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Western Hills Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Withrow made off with a 54-53 win over Woodward. The victory was all the more spectacular given Withrow's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Woodward is ranked 57th).
Michael Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Jordan, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Western Hills didn't have too much trouble with Hughes on the road on Friday as they won 58-39. 58 seems to be a good number for Western Hills as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Withrow's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Western Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Withrow came up short against Western Hills in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 60-51. Can Withrow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
